Ultherapy® Amplify – Uplifting Ultrasound Facelift Alternative
Now offering Ultherapy® Amplify "Enhance"
Ultherapy®Amplify, the newest Ulthera device, is the only FDA-approved non-invasive, non-surgical treatment for gradually strengthening and actually lifting the skin on the neck, chin, face and brow. Ulthera also improves lines and wrinkles on the décolleté.
Ultherapy®Amplify tightens the “SMAS” (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System), a deeper tissue that is tightened in surgical facelifts, giving a pronounced lift to the treated areas. Ultherapy®Amplify’s focused ultrasound also stimulates collagen deep within the skin. With little to no downtime, you’ll be well on your way to tighter, better-fitting skin.
How Ultherapy® Amplify Works
Unlike other ultrasound procedures, Ultherapy®Amplify uses focused ultrasound that delivers far more energy and precisely targets the SMAS and dermal/epidermal junction. We use a smooth applicator placed on top of your skin to heat the tissue below the surface to naturally and gradually tighten and lift the skin and create new collagen. This improves your skin from the inside out without disrupting the surface of your skin.
How many treatments will I need?
We have had good clinical results based upon just one Ultherapy treatment. Some people who have significant laxity elect to receive more than one treatment.
The Ultherapy® Amplify Treatment Experience
Many patients felt the original Ultherapy was too uncomfortable. A recent upgrade from Ulthera called “Ultherapy®Amplify” now affords a more comfortable procedure. While comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, most patients now report that the procedure is quite acceptable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This is temporary. We take measures to make the experience as pleasant as possible. Many patients receive oral pain medication, and they tell us they leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.
What is Ultherapy®Amplify?
Ultherapy®Amplify, the newest Ulthera technology, is the only non-invasive treatment approved by the FDA for lifting the skin on the neck, chin, face and brow. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten loose skin over time, without any downtime.
How is Ultherapy®Amplify different from other cosmetic procedures?
Other procedures tighten skin but Ultherapy®Amplify not only tightens but also lifts the tissues that support the skin. It is the only non-surgical cosmetic procedure that uses focused ultrasound to lift and tighten the skin and stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within the skin. The production of new collagen occurs over time, so results can become more apparent over three to six months. Ultherapy®Amplify also tightens the same deep membranes that are tightened with a surgical facelift. The procedure takes about an hour for most patients, and there is little to no downtime.
Ultherapy®Amplify by Ulthera is the only device that uses ultrasound imaging, which allows us to actually see the layers of tissue we target during the treatment and ensures the energy is deposited precisely to where it will be most effective.
Does it hurt?
A recent software upgrade called “Ultherapy®Amplify” now affords a more comfortable procedure. While comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, most patients now report that the procedure is quite acceptable. If and when any discomfort does occur, it happens while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. This sensation is temporary.
We take measures to make the experience as pleasant as possible, using premedication and cooling fans if necessary, and patients tell us they leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.
How long does it last?
Patients treated with Ultherapy®Amplify have results that will last for many years following the procedure, but skin does continue to age. Future touch-up treatments can help keep pace with the aging process, which varies by individual.
Are there any side effects with Ultherapy®Amplify ?
There may be slight redness for up to an hour or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. Mild bruising may occur in some patients.
How much does it cost?
Patients can expect to pay from $750 and up (full retail price), depending upon the areas being treated. We will have special promotions (starting at $495) on the different areas throughout the year. Sign up for our emails, check our Facebook page or check our website under the “Specials” tab to receive these special prices.
Is Ultherapy®Amplify safe?
The procedure has been approved by the FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies, and over 100,000 treatments have been performed safely worldwide. In addition, ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for more than 50 years.
How many treatments does it take?
The majority of patients only need one treatment; however, some may benefit from more than one treatment depending on how much laxity they have and their body’s own biological response to the focused ultrasound and the collagen-building process.
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy®Amplify?
A good candidate for Ultherapy®Amplify is someone with skin that has some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin signals a patient might be a candidate. Typically, those in their thirties and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates.
While Ultherapy®Amplify may be an alternative to a surgical facelift for many patients, there are many people who want some lifting but are not ready for a surgical facelift, either mentally, physically or financially. There also are younger people who want to “stay ahead of the game” as well as those looking to prolong the effects of prior cosmetic surgery.
Ultherapy®Amplify with fillers (liquid facelift) may often be an alternative to a surgical facelift.
How Much Downtime is There?
There is little to no downtime. You can return to normal activities the next day.
What about treating anatomical regions other than the face?
Currently, Ultherapy®Amplify is a treatment for the face and neck with a specific clinical indication for lifting the skin on the neck, face and brow.
What does collagen do? How does Ultherapy®Amplify
stimulate the creation of collagen?
Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed and toned. As we age, collagen loses its strength and its ability to stand up to the effects of gravity that pull the skin downward. Ultherapy®Amplify uses focused ultrasound to generate a precise thermal effect under the skin which stimulates a repair process that tightens, lifts, and strengthens existing collagen and produces fresh, new collagen.
Can men have it done?
Yes! Both women and men globally are receiving Ultherapy®Amplify.
